What Cost Fire?

When fire strikes, time is of the essence.

That’s what a tile and tools manufacturer in Northampton learned the hard way when a blaze tore through the industrial unit in which they operated.

The financial cost alone could be devastating – the owners estimate a quarter of a million pounds of stock was destroyed before fire fighters could bring the flames under control.

But what about the other costs?

Whilst the firm has pledged to continue trading (and we genuinely hope they can) there could be years-worth of records and documents lost – and of course the huge drain on resources that regrouping after such a catastrophe can’t be underestimated.

Although the firm was insured, the increase in premiums that’s likely to result from such a huge claim is likely to have an impact, too.

Fortunately, nobody was injured in the fire.  50 fire fighters put their lives on the line to tackle the blaze.
