Warning – Not All Security Systems Are What They Seem

It’s an unfortunate fact, but our industry is as susceptible to dishonesty as any other.

We recently read a story about a firm in Wiltshire attempting to con would-be customers out of thousands of pounds, selling cheap burglar alarms – and then forcing the buyers to sign up to a monitoring scheme that cost up to £6,000 a year!

The unscrupulous salesmen were also claiming that the alarms were connected directly to the police, which they were not.

Just like anything else you’re considering investing your hard-earned money in, we would advise you to be careful who you choose to supply and install your new home or business security products.  Choosing a reputable supplier, with a proven track record and solid accreditations, means that your money will be well spent.

If in doubt, look for the SSAIB logo (you’ll find it on our homepage).  The SSAIB monitors and regulates providers of security equipment.  They insist on extremely high standards of professionalism – and in the rare instance that you’re not happy with the service you’ve received, they’ll handle your complaint.

If you need advice on securing your home, vehicle or possessions, call BBALARMS on 01254 739 255 or contact us here for an obligation free chat.
