Police-installed CCTV system comes to the rescue

There’s no doubt about it – CCTV is an incredibly powerful and cost-effective tool in the fight against crime.

When fitted externally and connected to a recording device or monitoring system it can be an effective deterrent. But even when it’s just fitted inside your home or office it can provide compelling evidence that can secure a conviction should the worst happen.

And that’s exactly what did happen when 26-year-old Andres Balog forced his way into a home in Park Village, Wolverhampton.

The house had been fitted with motion-sensing CCTV cameras that came to life as Balog entered the building, capturing his every move and recording the whole series of events for posterity.

Detective Sergeant Nicki Addison from Wolverhampton CID encouraged more people to install CCTV and other security devices to their homes. “Houses, sheds, garages and outbuildings can all be fitted with this portable and easy to install equipment.”

However, there’s really no substitute for avoiding becoming a victim of crime in the first place.  Addison continues: “We also work to help people avoid becoming victims of burglary in the first place by regularly offering crime prevention advice and encouraging people to register their property through the online property recording website www.immobilise.com.”

We couldn’t agree more. Catching a thief is nowhere near as good as deterring one from entering your home or business.  At Blackburn Alarms we can help you cover all the bases, whether it’s your home you’re protecting or your place of work – whether it’s one building, an entire development, or even multiple buildings over numerous sites.

Blackburn Alarms can talk you through the options and help you decide on the right solution for you. For an obligation free conversation, call us today on 01254 739 255.
