No Honour Among Thieves With Man’s Best Friend

Here at Blackburn Alarms we know all about the latest hi-tech security-enhancing gadgetry. But every once in a while we come across a story where good old fashioned stupidity is what nails the bad guys.

We found this great example in Reading recently.

31-year-old Christopher Kupiec concocted a complex set of lies to explain how he couldn’t possibly have been involved in a burglary in the town. He blamed his friend, and even admitted handling stolen property as the evidence against him mounted.

But the final straw came when he was turned in by none other than his own dog! The faithful companion had accompanied Kupiec on the raid, and left paw prints and ‘mess’ that were easily identified.

After being found guilty on all counts, he was handed an additional 6-month jail term, on top of the two-and-a-half-years he was already serving for previous convictions.

We understand the dog escaped a custodial sentence!
